Dental specialists complete two to six extra years of training after dental school and usually work on referral from a general dentist, although most accept patients who call directly. Orthodontists straighten teeth with braces and clear aligners; endodontists handle root canals; periodontists treat gum disease and place implants; oral and maxillofacial surgeons extract wisdom teeth, place implants and do jaw surgery, often under IV sedation; prosthodontists rebuild smiles with crowns, bridges and dentures; denture centers focus on full and partial dentures, relines and repairs. Sedation and hospital dentists serve anxious patients and people with special needs, while TMJ and sleep-apnea dentists make oral appliances for jaw pain and snoring.

Hewlett is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Hewlett follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This was a new office to me and I was nervous about getting a root canal there, but I was met at the front desk by Loretta who was in friendly and helpful. Dr Gottlieb, who did my root canal was patient. She made sure I was numb and couldn’t feel the actual work being done. The procedure went perfectly and I was a little sore that night. Next day I was pain free!!!!!!! I would definitely go there again!!

I had an excellent experience at East Coast Endodontics with Dr. Zheng. Going into a root canal, I was honestly very nervous, but Dr. Zheng and the entire team made the process smooth and surprisingly comfortable. Dr. Zheng was incredibly professional, patient, and thorough in explaining everything step by step, which really helped ease my anxiety. The procedure itself was quick, efficient, and virtually painless, much easier than I expected. The office was clean, well-organized, and the staff was welcoming and attentive from start to finish. You can tell they truly care about their patients and take pride in their work. If you need an endodontist, I highly recommend Dr. Zheng and East Coast Endodontics. I’m so grateful for such a positive experience!
